Scanning a smooth, shiny piece doesn’t necessarily have to be a challenge – at least not with Artec Space Spider. This 3D model of a metal adjusting lever was scanned in 5 minutes flat, with every hole, dip, and edge in place. Space Spider famously captures the finest geometry in resolution as high as 0.1 mm, precisely rendering all curves and slides. Be it the sharp outlines of the screw or the cuttings into the rim of the hole in the middle – these edges are what Space Spider was designed to keep razor-sharp.

After effortless scanning, 8 minutes of processing in Artec Studio 17 was all that was left to do. Thanks to improved algorithms in Studio, the model boasts astonishing precision, making it ready for your final reverse engineering or quality inspection workflows.
